Temperament Testing
Behavior and aptitude assessments allow for a custom training program, whether you are in group classes, taking private lessons, or training any type of animal in a non "cookie cutter" method.
Big Sky Dog Training has designed a complex list of tests aimed at evaluating dogs and puppy’s temperament and general behavior to outside stimulus.
No test can guarantee the dogs behavior for his entire lifetime as actual events influence a dog’s personality all the time.
The following list contains some of the areas that are evaluated. You of course can request evaluations in any other area. These evaluation areas are compiled from several professional sources
and are individually scored.
- Meeting a neutral stranger
- Petting body (head to tail)
- Response to commands and previous training
- Personality (soft, hard, dominate, submissive, fearful, etc.)
- Hidden Noise / Loud Noise/ High-Pitched squeaky voice
- Sudden Potential Threat
- Reaction to different footing
- Recognizing potential threat
- Response to wildlife and other animals (dogs, cats, etc.)
- Testing prey drive
- Reaction to the outside, cars, people, traffic, shopping
- Guarding food, toys
- Identifying motivational drive
- Response to small children
